A small transformation :)

A week or two ago, I bought this stool from a charity shop.

I didn't intend to keep it like this, I saw it and just liked the shape of the legs.
I thought it would be a good project, and thought it might make me use some of my lovely fabrics that I never want to cut into.

Anyway, after painting the legs in 'Pretty Pink' (would have preferred a more pastel/candy pink, but I think it looks okay) and pulling out tons of staples..
And then trying to pull out the rest of the staples that broke off, because it was so old and quite rusty..

I ended up with this.
What do you think?
I'm pretty pleased with it.
I'm glad that I managed to get it finished today.
I actually had today off! I have two jobs, and got a bank holiday off... How did that even happen?! Not that I'm complaining :)
A little bit of prettyness to end the day off, I've felt quite ill all day, not sure why, just felt, I don't know.. off.
Hopefully I'll be back on top form tomorrow.

I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday and got to enjoy some sunshine.

Business Cards

I've been looking online at different business cards..and I there are quite a few options. But I just cant seem to find any that are, well, I don't know..just me I guess.

I did order this one a while back..

And I do really like it, but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect one.

Where did all you lovely people get yours from? If you have some that is. Did you pick an already designed one or design your own?

I do love seeing other peoples business cards, and if I come across any I always want to take one home with me.

A bit like in American Psycho, where they all admire each others cards.

Ooh, and when I get some decent light to photograph in, I have a new make to share!
I made myself a lovely satchel type bag in a gorgeous fabric with squirrels on :)

Giveaway

I totally forgot to update about the giveaway I mentioned!
So here it is, it's not a major giveaway or anything really special I guess, but I thought it was rather nice.
Its a tea towel with a version of the 'Keep Calm' slogan on it..

I'm not asking for followers, but do feel free to follow me if you wish to :)
So, to enter, all you have to do is comment on this post.
Please leave an email address or a way to get in touch with you, so I can let you know if you have won.
And, just to make it a little nicer, there won't be one winner.
I have five of these to giveaway :)
(Open to the UK only, sorry!)
I will pick a winner (well, winners!) on the 23rd.
Feel free to tell others about this if you know someone who might like a pretty tea towel.

I hope everyone is getting to enjoy some sunshine, I finally got to see some last week and managed to snap this picture whilst I was in the town.
It was still chilly, but look at that sky, so blue and pretty..

Scentsy

I want to start this post by saying I have no connection to Scentsy, I do not work for them, I just absolutely adore their products!

I was recently introduced to Scentsy (link to the page here) by a friend who knows my love of candles ( read as slight addiction to a well known brand of candle..) and lovely smells.
I wasn't too sure about trying a new one at first. But she was kind enough to send me a couple of wax blocks of hers for me to smell, so I could see what they were like before I went ahead and bought some. That was more than enough.

They are absolutely gorgeous!

I bought this lovely warmer...

How beautiful is this? I absolutely love the tree on it. I was torn between this one that I bought, and a beautiful owl one. I decided on this one because it is a mid-size warmer because we live in a quite small flat.
Scentsy is a little bit different from a candle.
How it works, is that you get this warmer (that you actually plug in, I didn't include the cable in the photo because I moved it somewhere clutter free to photograph) and you pop a small cube of wax in the top dish.
It's gradually warmed by a lightbulb that is inside the warmer, and gives off a lovely glow in the evening :)
Another plus for me is that even when the wax is melted, it doesn't get hot, it just gets nicely warm..so, as I'm quite clumsy and on a few occasions I have knocked wax on myself from candles, even if I do now, it wont hurt.

These are the lovely scent blocks. In the front you can see a block of wax that you'd pop into the top of the warmer. The block in the photo is called "Just Breathe" and it smells amazing! I was feeling all stuffed up and I melted this wax block and felt so much better.

The Luna one has to be my favourite one so far though I think.

I'm looking forward to trying my "A Wink And A Smile" one as it smells lovely, and how cute is the name?

Anyway, enough of my Scentsy ramblings. Sorry if you think I'm trying to sell this to you, I'm not, I just wanted to share something lovely with you.

Spring

I just found this photo on one of my USB sticks. Really makes me think of last Spring.
Spring this year seems like a long way off right now.

Will it be time for Ice Creams soon?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter lovely bloggy people!

Are you all having a lovely day? Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend as much as you can.

I had today off work, with the Supermarket I work at actually being closed. I felt really thrown out with being off work, and with the clocks changing.
I'm quite looking forward to a bit more daylight. I do enjoy sitting all cosy and covered up in an evening, with a cup of tea or hot chocolate. But I always miss daylight.
Going to work when it's dark, coming home when it's dark.

I finally got around to taking photographs of a couple of makes that I did whilst I didn't have a laptop. It's great to actually finish a project instead of having half finished ones lying around.

My very first Granny Square Blanket..
I decided to do one giant one, rather than several pieced together. As I'm only just getting my head around crochet. I found a video on youtube of how to crochet a granny square, and off I went.

I enjoyed making it so much, that I decided to do another one in pastel-y colours..

Although, now I have a laptop again, this one isn't quite finished. I keep intending to sit down and get a bit more done, but I keep getting distracted by pinterest and blogs. Bad Hannah. I must try harder to resist the internet.

I wanted a patchwork cushion to just throw onto the bed, so I made this one out of some lovely fabrics I had bought a while ago.

I had kept them for ages, and just kept looking at them as I didn't want to cut them up. I took a deep breath and eventually cut the first bit of fabric, and ended up here.
Does anyone else just want to hoard fabric? Some of it is just too pretty to cut up. It feels a bit like a crime to cut into it.

This isn't a very good photo, I apologise. It was just a quick snap before it got sent on its way to its new owner. I do love making little baby quilts :)

I've started to make a quilt for my bed, but I'm having a little trouble with it at the moment.
I've got all the patchwork top part done. It's just the pinning it together and sewing through all the layers on my machine. I don't have a table big enough to do it properly. I only sew on a fold away TV table, as my flat is really quite small.
So it's folded in the bedroom for now. Hopefully I will be able to get around to it one day.

Anyway, there are a few of the makes I enjoyed doing whilst being without a laptop.
I'mm thinking of making a rule where I stay offline for one day a week or something, and just craft.
I do really love coming online and reading lots of blogs, and it really helps with my creativity. But I can really get lost online, and the time seems to go so fast.
I'm not the only one who does this, am I?

Anyway, I've said it already, but I am so glad to be back!

Happy Easter everyone.

I'm back! :)

Oh, my dear blog. I have missed you!
I can't believe it has been so long since I last updated.
To any readers, I sincerely apologise for being missing for so long. If there are any still here, thank you so much for sticking around!

I finally have a laptop that actually works, so I can get back to catching up on reading blogs and updating too.

I'm so SO glad to be back! I really have missed reading all the lovely blogs that I do. But on the plus side, I guess I have a lot to read :)

I'm hoping that I can use Easter Sunday to do a proper update.
I actually have the day off, which is going to be rather weird for me. As I work every single Sunday at a Supermarket that only closes on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

I'm sure I will feel lost, but I can't say that I will miss it.

Although I'm very pleased to have a laptop again, I've certainly noticed, even within just a few days, how much it changes my craftyness.
While I didn't have a laptop, I spent more time actually crafting. And since I've got one again, and knowing what I was also like before.. I spent more time reading about and looking at other peoples crafting, rather than actually doing some.
Is that a problem for anyone else too?

As a welcome back to my blog, I will have a small giveaway. More details to follow tomorrow..

One thing I have been able to do, even without a laptop, is get addicted to Pinterest. Are any of my lovely readers on there? It's one website that my phone can actually handle me being on. So I've been able to get small crafty fixes whilst I've been away.

If anyone would like to follow me on there, I can be found here.

That's all for me tonight, I'm going to have a browse around my favourite blogs and then head to bed. And lose an hour..boo. But, at least I am off tomorrow, yay!

Happy Easter lovely blogland!
